    Thomas began his journey in movement with classical ballet training. His formative education was conducted at two esteemed institutions - the San Francisco Ballet School and the Royal Ballet School, where he honed his craft to a professional level. Following his education, Thomas performed with the Ballett Zurich and the Scottish Ballet, adding two decades of professional dance experience to his repertoire.

    In his pursuit of comprehensive understanding of the human body and its functionality, Thomas transitioned from professional dance to the field of Pilates and fitness. This transition was marked by rigorous education and certification processes. He completed the comprehensive Pilates instructor certification from BASI® Pilates, (Body Arts and Science International), a 200-hour yoga teacher training, and pursued additional studies in anatomy and barre fitness.

    In addition, Thomas is delighted to announce his recent certification achievement in completing the BASI® Mentor Program, which is a vital component of the renowned BASI® Legacy Program. This milestone signifies a step forward in Thomas's evolution as a dedicated Pilates instructor, extending and enhancing the comprehensive training he received during his initial BASI® teacher education. Thomas is eagerly looking forward to further enriching his expertise in the realm of Pilates and to offer his clients an elevated level of skill and knowledge.

    With over twenty years of experience in dance and movement, Thomas Kendall now applies his extensive knowledge and skills to teaching others. His instruction fuses his deep understanding of human anatomy with the grace and precision of his ballet training, reflecting his broad background in the field. His teaching philosophy is rooted in safety, functionality, and controlled, graceful movement.

    With a formative education in performing arts focusing primarily on classical ballet and modern dance, Patricia first discovered Pilates through a favorite teacher who incorporated the principles and repertoire of Joseph Pilates in her teaching. This pivotal experience sparked an interest that has continued to grow and inspired her to dive deeper into the study of Pilates and therapeutic movement.

    Patricia holds a master’s degree in Education in Cross-Cultural Teaching and Language Acquisition, with more than twenty years experience helping students of many ages develop communication skills. She is passionate about coaching her students in recognizing their individual potential, achieving goals, and empowering themselves.

    Patricia has completed the BASI® Pilates Comprehensive Mat and Apparatus Teaching Certification to deepen her knowledge, strengthen her practice, and help others along their own journeys towards optimal health. In addition, she is particularly fascinated by the fascial system and how its condition directly impacts our overall function.

    Patricia knows firsthand the restorative power that mindful movement, like Pilates and other bodywork modalities, have on our entire wellbeing. She is devoted to helping her students improve their alignment, balance, coordination, flexibility, and strength in order to fully thrive.

  • Giorgiana Theiler

    Giorgiana's journey in Pilates reflects a commitment to learning, growth, and a passion for movement. Currently enrolled in the Comprehensive BASI certification program since April 2023, Giorgiana started her studies at the Pilates Clinic in London and continued in Zurich from November of the same year. With a focus on anatomy and exercise principles, she's been actively demonstrating effective teaching techniques during her training.
    Before diving into Pilates, Giorgiana spent six months at Be:life Studio, managing studio operations, handling social media, and contributing to content creation. This experience has equipped her with organizational skills that complement her Pilates expertise.
    Beyond her Pilates dedication, Giorgiana is an avid golfer. She aims to integrate her Pilates knowledge with golf conditioning, offering a comprehensive approach to athletic development. In addition, Giorgiana is a part-time photographer and artist, with her work focusing on mental health and well-being. Her art has been exhibited in notable galleries in Zurich, showcasing her commitment to a balanced and holistic lifestyle.
    As Giorgiana embarks on her journey with BASI Pilates Zurich, expect sessions led by a knowledgeable instructor who values continuous learning and brings a diverse skill set to the studio.   • Perrine Harkoma

    Perrine is a BASI® Pilates, (Body Arts and Science International) certified instructor specializing in mat Pilates, and is currently pursuing her certification in apparatus-based Pilates. Her introduction to Pilates occurred 15 years ago during her residence in Finland, where it swiftly became a vital component of her fitness regimen. Additionally, Pilates was instrumental in her expedient post-pregnancy recoveries.

    Beyond her dedication to Pilates, Perrine maintains an active lifestyle enriched by various physical activities including dancing, swimming, hiking, and snow sports. This broad spectrum of athletic pursuits has contributed to her comprehensive understanding of bodily dynamics and functionality, knowledge she seamlessly integrates into her Pilates instruction.

    In her instructional approach, Perrine emphasizes the development of bodily autonomy. Her tailored sessions equip students with the necessary tools to exercise control over their bodies, rather than succumb to feeling controlled by them. She diligently considers the unique conditions and personal objectives of each student, ensuring progress is made at a pace that maintains the balance between challenge and comfort.

    Luca's journey with Pilates began unexpectedly in 2017 during a visit to his family in Italy. It was there that he had a chance encounter with Pilates when his mother, a devoted practitioner, suggested he attend a class. Little did he know that this encounter would be a revelation. Luca was immediately captivated by the precision, strength, and intense concentration that Pilates demanded, as well as its unique ability to foster a deep connection with oneself.

    As Luca delved deeper into Pilates, he discovered its remarkable benefits for his other athletic pursuits, including CrossFit, endurance sports, and swimming. The tangible improvements in his performance convinced him of Pilates' transformative power.

    While jet-setting around the world for his aerospace business, Luca took the opportunity to earn his Mat certification through BASI® Pilates in 2019, in London. During the challenging times brought about by the pandemic, he committed himself to online training, ensuring that his friends and relatives stayed active and connected, despite the challenging circumstances.

    What truly sets Luca apart is his insatiable curiosity about the intersection of physiology and psychology. He is deeply interested in exploring how movement can serve as a therapeutic tool for managing anxiety and the demands of daily life. Luca is also dedicated to understanding how trauma can manifest in the body and how mindset can be cultivated through movement. His ultimate goal is to guide others towards longevity, vitality, and mental agility through the transformative power of Pilates.

    Zuzanna's path has taken a captivating turn from her days as a devoted bookworm engrossed in desk work. A pivotal moment emerged when she joined the adult ballet community, igniting a fervent passion for daily challenges and exploration. Defying conventions, she's resolute in debunking the notion that dance, stretching, and athleticism are confined to childhood starters or the inherently athletic.

    In her pursuit of refining ballet technique, Zuzanna uncovered BASI® Pilates, a journey she continues today. During ballet breaks, the Pilates studio became her sanctuary, offering a space for resetting, rekindling motivation, and nurturing her body-mind connection. The essence of Pilates, adaptable to life's ever-changing demands, resonated deeply. Regular Pilates practice elevated her ballet finesse, aided injury recovery, battled burnout, facilitated a healthy pregnancy, and hastened postpartum revival.

    Zuzanna's diverse personal experiences have granted her multifaceted insights into the interplay between body and mind. She empathizes with beginners grappling with doubt, understands the relentless pursuit of specific goals, and respects the fluid boundaries of physical and mental well-being. Zuzanna cultivates an environment of positivity and inclusion, empowering individuals to discover their physical potential.

    Driven to explore Pilates further, Zuzanna enrolled in the esteemed BASI® Pilates Teacher Program in 2023. Currently, on the path to mat and apparatus-based Pilates certification, her fascination with stretching and fascia training seeks to cultivate bodily comfort.

    Fatima has always been passionate about physical wellness, manifesting her journey through an impressive diversity of sports including running, basketball, Krav Maga, and CrossFit. Her expansive repertoire of disciplines has equipped her with a unique perspective and a comprehensive understanding of the dynamic capabilities of the human body.

    Her journey practicing this wide variety of sports eventually led her to the transformative world of Pilates. Enthusiastic by the holistic approach of Pilates, Fatima was drawn in by its harmony of body and mind, and its potential to enhance performance across a myriad of other physical activities. The first-hand experience of the profound impact Pilates had on her own wellness inspired a desire to delve deeper into its discipline and share its transformative power with others.

    In 2023, Fatima received her training from the BASI® Pilates Teacher program. Embracing the next chapter in her fitness journey, she joined our studio, bringing her vibrant energy and diverse background in athletics to our Pilates community.

    Fatima now channels her passion and knowledge into her mat classes. Her vibrant energy, together with her expertise, provides a unique and invigorating learning environment for her clients. She's not just teaching Pilates - she's sharing a philosophy of balance, strength, and wellness derived from her own personal transformative journey.   • Alessia Imberti

    Alessia, holding a degree in economics, serves as a Human Resources Business Partner. In addition to her corporate role, she is an accomplished instructor in a variety of disciplines, including Yoga, Aerial Yoga, Barre Concept®, Pilates, swimming, and water gymnastics.

    Alessia began her journey as a fitness instructor at the age of 15, teaching swimming to children. After moving to Zurich, she embarked on a water sports instructor training program. In 2012, she ventured to Munich, Germany, to complete her training as a Barre Concept® instructor, a discipline that integrates elements of ballet, Pilates, and Yoga.

    In 2017, Alessia added another feather to her cap by completing a 200-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa teacher training. She then began teaching in Zurich and, after a couple of years, pursued two advanced Teacher Trainings, each of 300 hours. Alessia specialized in therapeutic yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative, Nidra, Yoga for pregnant women, meditation, breathing techniques, and Ayurvedic medicine.

    Most recently, Alessia completed the comprehensive BASI® (Body Art and Science International®) Teacher Training, where she also specialized in pre- and post-pregnancy. Her versatile skill set and commitment to lifelong learning underscore Alessia's passion for her work and dedication to her students.
